Stretching for Sunday mornings
I have been successful in motivating my crew to exercise more but how to get them to do adequate amount of stretching? Well, I show a good example how to...

Recovering
After two days of car travel I need couple of days for relaxing. I don't feel like doing any visits or such and prefer to rest well. I set my beduin tent under the palm tree (actually a monstera but a palm tree sounds better to set one's beduin tent under ;-)) and retreat. See you later...

Too hot
I am an individual with genetics developed in sub-arctic climates. More than two weeks in over 25C weather was just too much for me; one could just lay on his back and try to manage the temperature.
So I decided that it is time to command the crew to travel to the vessel. Off we went.

Spring Thing
It's mid-March already. The Spring is on its way. You can notice it by the increased day light - there is light around the time my crew wakes up in the mornings they leave for the daily routines, the ones without nautical content. I can notice it personally as I feel a bit restless and my appetite is decreasing. Nothing to worry about, this is what male cats do. Also I have started shedding my winter coat for more suitable, more lighter one for the boat activities. This year, I cannot report about melting snow as we lacked the snow almost completely. The captain has set a new target to himself, he wants to learn how to sew sails - I will report if this endeavor produces results.

Time to relax
The life in my lair on land has returned to almost normal, the electricity is back. This Xmas was very different from the my two earlier Xmases. This one was almost better: more visits to my temp crew, much less light as I like it better in twilight. An of course I do not mind missing the noise caused by washing machines, dish washers and such.
The crew has arranged and tidied little by little the lair on land during the weekend but what is concerning to me they are talking that I will be shampooed soon. I do not like that at all. Better to keep up sharpening my nails...

Crew activation tip
The crew has had very low activity level and they have napped more than ever. I think it is because of the high load caused by the situation with the water main and the fact the there is very limited access to electricity and we are in the darkness of sub-arctic mid-winter. I have been also like that but still taken care of my daily physical and mental training. So I needed to do something to activate the crew and I found this nice cardio training. It is good for the crew because it has very varying movements and I believe improves their agility. Of course they cannot never reach my level of grace and elegance but I challenge them to improve in their own limits.

Re-arranging
Oh, I was very busy this morning. The first mate got the xmas vegetation set in late schedule this year and only today I got to start the inspection work. If I am not happy with the results I may make some re-arrangements to my taste.
Talking about taste - the huckleberry is my new favorite with its plump buds and pleasant texture that is somewhat chewy but still nicely cuttable.

My music recommendations for this night: Sarah McLachlan O little town. And with Jussi Björling O helga natt you can never miss.

Keep Calm & Relax, now!
My instructions on how to manage the Xmas excitement became suddenly very topical in an unexpected way.
When the water main on my street broke an alternative Xmas plan become necessary. Fortunately as a sea cat and the chief of the vessel I manage well unexpected situations and come up with alternative plans fast. The Xmas theme jardin francais is not seen this year in the planned extent. Instead I get to take the crew to visit my temp crew every day! Not that bad, I enjoy the outings and visits at the temp crew.
Nothing in life is more expected than the unexpected.

Keep calm and Relax
Cooking, baking and wrapping has became a routine activity on last days here in my lair on land. I need to show example to the crew how to relax even on the kitchen floor in the middle of action.
No, I have not gained weight since Summer. I am as svelte as in August. I have just developed a coat suitable to sub-arctic conditions.

Guardian
The lion worked on Stockholm, I worked on my lair on land. For the whole long weekend.
As the crew was in Stockholm I had to manage the lair on land myself. No worries, there was excellent temp crew helping me! Thanks for the weekend, looking forward working with you again :-)

December 1st
It's December now. The first mate is getting excited about the upcoming Xmas and the weekends are getting busier here in my lair on land. I can say goodbye to my regular nap routine as I need to take care of my responsibility as a chief of the house and look after the activities. Last Xmas the vegetation that was brought in was mostly edible but this year the material does not look as promising.
First, this green thing called myrtle has a herblike fragrant smell into it - I like herbs like rosemary and sage but this one is not to my taste. Well, these mini trees are something to lounge under but I have to emphasize I like to enjoy Xmas plants with my all senses ;-)
The other one looks like tree but it is not a real one. I can tell you it does not fill my stability requirements and it failed on the first try... I also tried to chew it but the leaves are not pleasant to eat.
I hope my crew can do it better as we get closer to Xmas. Real materials that I can enjoy holistically, please!
