By using this elegant door handle you can enter into this elegant building and on the top of it there is fantastic view to over Kemi city and the archipelago. 

Also, there was a nice cafe for coffee and lunch. Kemi is a small city and they just seem to can do it, using their assets to make the town pleasant to stay.

Annual rose competition

The first mate has an annual routine of the Ainola park rose competition; she selects her favorite rose.

 The purpose of this to alleviate the symptoms of returning to the land, leaving the life at sea. To my experience the competition goes like this: For several weeks she checks out the roses on her way through the park. She considers carefully. In the end she decides that "Summer lady" is her favorite and the loveliest of the roses. 

I will report if the competition takes different course this year...
