High Water Wonders

This year fast melting of snow resulted in Spring flood close to record levels. The water covered my routine routes by the river, under the mighty spruce trees. Mr&Mrs Swan got to visit the routes too, by swimming.

These pics explain why my vernal weekends have been super-busy.  

Group of goldeneyes (it is still to be confirmed if this is the correct translation for sotka), Mr&Mrs Swan and few ducks have been busy too in their Spring activities in local pool of open water close to my cabin. And I had to monitor all this activity from sunrise to sunset, and the day is already long here.

The situation is now calmer as the ice has retreated further to the lake and the birds have more open water to roam. However, the forest birds have become more active and they keep me busy now.
