Wonder forest in Borgholm
Our visit to Borgholm was not that long we expected; once the keel starts touching the ground in a marina it is time for deeper waters. However there was excitement in the air in the morning - the crew's morning jogging entered the trails to the Borgholm castle and to the king's summer residence - and oh that amount of ah and oh, the childhood's story book forests were suddenly totally here, true and touchable. I expect the first mate will come up with some poetic posts about the dog roses large like trees, the rays of the sun piercing the green of the noble trees, the birds of various kinds singing and chanting the way of the wanderer...

At the sea!
After two and half days of work in 25C we were ready to set the sail and go! Brisk tail wind took us to Borgholm, more about it later.

Poetic Burbees
The first mate has set herself to healthy and invigorating vacation regime. A part of that is a morning exercise - she got very excited about running back and fort in the park between the marina and the castle garden. This is a bit annoying - what might have people on their way to work on a lovely June morning thought about my first mate performing burbees and push ups in the comfortable shadow of local birch and maple trees and then running again between the intervals? And there is more - the view of castle made her poetic and the fragrance of the hansa roses reminded her about her childhood birthdays where the hansa roses were always present as surely as a strawberry and cream cake...

Ship
To reach the vessel in Kalmar we drove to Turku and then took a ferry to Stockholm. I do not mind to be carried by a larger ship, I do not mind not having control of the ship but I do mind the control engines that are used when the vessel is getting detached or attached to a pier - that noise that shakes and rattles the ship makes me nervous. I am used to listen any discrepancies in the voice domain of a naval vehicle and I continue that responsibility even as a passenger. Otherwise this beautiful new ship travels smoothly and quietly like a swan in the lovely archipelago between Turku and Stockholm.

Captivating Kalmar
Finally at the vessel. One full day of driving to Turku. One full night in a ship to Stockholm. And half day driving to Kalmar. After all this I was exhausted but what one can do when this kind of excitement is available in the marina?

It's getting close
Oh, I feel so relaxed and playful as I know very soon we will start our Summer 2014 sailing.
The crew is crazy busy running around in all kind of responsibilities, nautical and non-nautical, but I know my responsibilities as a chief of a vessel and concentrate to perform at my best at the sea.
